Breakfast |
All I know is that I am simply in love with food. Just thinking about the yummiest meat cravings I have for years makes me have a smile of satisfaction. In this travel to Sacramento, I was awe-struck to have found meals and servings of food that equal or even top what I was conveniently served on my plate back home. On K Street, situated between the 23rd and 24th street, we came across a Sacramento restaurant named Sugar Plum Vegan, a vintage-looking house that just reminds me of our long weekend trips to my grandmother’s place. What comes as a surprise for someone who greets every serving of a big hearty meal of hamburgers and fries with a big, toothy grin is the fact that the food tastes great. I ordered some freshly baked cinnamon rolls that come with fine looking muffins. They also take pride in their organic fairly traded beverages that ranges from $1.75 to a considerably reasonable $3.50. I chose their organic smoothie that just tastes like a preview of heaven–vegan style. |
Lunch |
Café Rolle on H Street is our stop for our late lunch where I had an amazing feel of authentic French cooking. Chef Rolle was of course kind enough to let everyone who visits the place to have the experience of France delicacies right in the comfort of this small yet cozy space of excellent French cooking. I chose to munch on their Hot Brie Sandwich at $8.50 that is mainly an innovative combination of melted brie on a baguette toasted to perfection. The tarragon sauce is just genius and it made me ask for some more. This late lunch experience for the two of us just made us realize how fun Sacramento restaurants are. |
Dinner |
For some eventful dinner, we chose to drop by L Street at the Hyatt Regency to experience what we were told as a fine dining experience. We had fun trying to be flashy for the night for the place calls for business casual attire and so we did look dapper that night. We had some crab cakes for starters with just the right combination of crispiness and nicely moist inside that just makes you ready for an even more. I chose to have the famous Kobe burger that is an amazing combination of half pound American kobe beef that is created artfully paired with gruyere cheese. The place is sure fancy and pleasant that can be perfect for anyone’s romantic getaways or even business functions. I got to admit, this made our night. |
What to Do... |

Morning |
After our nice breakfast, we managed to squeeze in time to see Fairytale Town at Land Park Drive. Hey, who said this place can only be enjoyed by kids is totally wrong. I know this was a hip place to enjoy and unwind because there are simply so many things to do in Sacramento. Just for a tiny amount of $4, who knew this entrance fee would bring us to a whole new world where you can relive your childhood imagination! Everything lived up to its name for in this place, you find your fairy tales come true. Come and visit this place and see what we both enjoyed. From the magnificently structured park equipment, to the kiddie slides and swings and characters walking around like seeing them jump out of our favorite story books. |
Afternoon |
My friend and I decided to drop by Art Ellis Art Supplies hoping we could find some of the rarest art materials that my friend enjoys. Just like a kid making her first trip to the candy store, I saw how her eyes balled up as we reached J Street and took the liberty of finding everything that she needs. Well, we passed by the store after lunch and to our amazement the staff of the store isn’t there for nothing. They were very helpful and well versed with art supplies that would be best for my friend’s art needs. Not only do they have almost everything, they sure know how to connect with the customer’s immediate needs. This quick trip to Art Ellis Art Supplies is a bonus for our trip because she unexpectedly found a gem that waits to be discovered. |
Evening |
The Crest Theatre for all we know was legendary in showcasing films and performances that are key to any art enthusiast’s satisfaction. After our very nice dinner, we took off and ventured to K Street again and found the amazing architecture of The Crest Theatre. The view outside makes you feel like you are a VIP of a grand movie premiere. As we entered, the theatre boast of rich wood work and design that gives this nice historic feel. Well, snacks and your choice of beverage are available just like any other movie house that you visit but what exempts this from them is that this is a priced Sacramento gem and we were so thrilled to have tried it. |
